I tried shaking anything out of the cylinder, but nothing was loose inside it. I removed the spark plug and it was intact. I figured that maybe a piece of the spark plug broke off and was stopping the piston from reaching TDC. The coil was hitting the flywheel a little, so I removed it but it did not improve anything. I could easily rotate it back and forth 170 degrees as much as I want, but it cannot make a full revolution. It rotates about 170 degrees, then stops suddenly, as if it is hitting something. I removed the recoil assembly and rotated the flywheel by hand. I was told the engine was siezed, as the starter rope could not be pulled more than about 1/2" or so.
